Marcella "Marcia" Dillard, 81, of Burlington, died at 5:12 AM Sunday, November 29, 2009, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born September 28, 1928, in Burlington, she was the daughter of LeRoy John and Grace Emma Lutz Canterbury. She married Robert William Wilson in 1946. They later divorced. On December 31, 1966, she married Cecil LaVerne Dillard in Burlington.

Marcia worked at the Iowa Ordinance Plant and then at General Electric where she retired in January 1990.
She was a member of First United Church of Christ where she served with the Outreach Committee and also helped with the church meals. She was also a member of Circle B Square Dance Club and the Night Owls CB Club. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, she enjoyed watching basketball, listening to bluegrass/country music, reading, squaredancing, crafts and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil, two sons, Clifford (Linda) Wilson and William Michael Wilson both of Burlington; two daughters, Connie (Jerry) Herman and Marcia (Brian) Luers both of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Lea (Robbie) Phillips, Brenda Phillis, Roberta Brown, Lesley Peterson, Matthew Luers, Jacob Luers, Ashley Luers, Shelli Wilson and Mackenzie Wilson; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; five stepchildren; eight step-grandchildren; one brother, LeRoy (Georgie) Canterbury of Burlington; one sister, Delores (Lawrence) Baker of Downing, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents two sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Dillard will be 10:30 AM Thursday, December 3, 2009, at the First United Church of Christ with Pastor JudyAnn Morse officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to First United Church of Christ.
