Virginia M. Timmerman, 90, of Burlington, died at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 17, 2009, at her home.

Born January 23, 1919, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Bufford and Lavienia Burkett. On December 14, 1935, she married Earnest A. Timmerman in Burlington. He died September 30, 2002.

Virginia was a homemaker.
She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed crocheting and reading.
|
Survivors include one son, Earnest Timmerman of Burlington;l three daughters, Melody S. Peterson of Burlington, Diane Miller of West Burlington, and Joyce Colton of Texas; 27 grandchildren; eight grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Corman and Nellie Hill, both of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sons.

A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring of 2010.
As per her request, cremation has been accorded.
The Hass-Thielen Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
