Clara Jane Kelly, 87, of Burlington, died at 11:45 PM Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Sunnybrook Assisted Living.

Born March 16, 1922, in Mercer, MO, she was the daughter of Roy David and Glen Ora Irvin Collier. On September 24, 1938, she married Merl Davis Kelly in Princeton, MO. He died June 23, 1990.

Clara was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mercer Baptist Church in Mercer, Missouri. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, enjoyed sewing, making crafts, crocheting, embroidery, knitting, making quilts, and was an excellent cook.

Survivors include one daughter, Bernice (Dick) Jannings of Davenport, IA; one son, Charles (Mary) Kelly of Burlington; one daughter-in-law, Nadine Kelly of Gosnell, AK; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; three sister-in-laws, Mary Cribb, Juanita Alley, Janette Kelly.
Besides her husband, she was preceeded in death by four brothers, two sisters, and two sons, J.D. Kelly and Michael Kelly.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Kelly will be 3:00 PM Monday, December 21, 2009, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Hass-Thielen Community Room following the funeral service. The Graveside Committal Service and Interment will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Evergreen Cemetery, Lineville, Iowa with Pastor Ron Helton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Hospice of Central Iowa.
