Joan Frances Wagner Breuer, 74, of Burlington, died at 6:30 AM Sunday, January 10, 2010, at her home.

Born September 30, 1935, in Oak Park, IL, she was the daughter of John Joseph and Kathleen McWilliams Eiff.

Joan worked in advertising at the Hawk Eye, sales at J.C Penneys and food service with the Burlington School District.
She was a 1953 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst, IL
She was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a Lector and also had been a member of the Parish Council. She had participated in the Players Workshop and was a member of the Great Books Club. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and was a blood donor. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Lee (Pamela) Wagner of Rockport, TX and John William Wagner of Salt Lake City, UT; one daughter, Kim Elizabeth (Thomas) Richert of Burlington; five grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Marie Grant of Roseburg, OR; one sister-in-law, Norma Eiff of Chicago, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Eiff. |
As per the request of Mrs. Wagner Breuer, cremation has been accorded.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with a 10:30 AM Rosary Service.
The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Wagner Breuer will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 16, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Father Bruce A. DeRammelaere as the Celebrant. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir. A time of food and fellowship will be held at St. John's Cafeteria following the memorial service.
Memorials have been established for Great River Hospice and St. John's Church Choir. |
