Margaret E. "Margie" Johnson, 81, of Burlington, died at 10:56 AM Thursday, January 21, 2010, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born June 24, 1928, in Bladensburg, IA, she was the daughter of Roy C. and Nellie A. Wilcox. On November 11, 1944, she married Lee A. Johnson in Bloomfield, Iowa. He died August 27, 1990.

Margie had worked at Snappy Service on 6th & Jefferson, Winegard, and Conifer.
She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she had volunteered in the kitchen for many years. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and spending time with family.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, including, Stephanie (Troy) Rickeberg of Burlington, with whom she had lived for the last few years.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one nephew.

As per the request of Mrs. Johnson, cremation has been accorded.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Monday, January 25, 2010, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 1221 Park Ave.
The Memorial Service for Mrs. Johnson will be 10:30 AM Monday, January 25, 2010, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Pastor Tom Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A time of food and fellowship will be held at the church following the inurnment.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) scholarship fund.
