Ozzie A. Minster, 81, of Schertz, Texas, formerly of Burlington, died at 2:25 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Northeast Methodist Hospital in Live Oak, Texas.

Born January 2, 1928, in Newton, IA, he was the son of Arthur and Margaret Mullenix Minster. On September 10, 1950, he married Ruth Grace Lovell. She died May 20, 2002.

Mr. Minster was a guard for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown.
He was a seaman in the U.S. Navy, serving during the World War II from 1945 until 1950.

Survivors include one son, Don Minster of Texas; one daughter, Julie (Tracey) Barker of Schertz, TX; three grandsons, Matthan, Noah, and Corey; one brother, Bill (Millie) Minster of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews, including Cindy (Phil) Burton (whom he considered his daughter).
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry, one brother, and two sisters.

As per Ozzie's request, cremation has been accorded.
There will be no visitation.
The Memorial Service for Mr. Minster will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. Inurnment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.
